Weekly ideas to stimulate reflection, inspire new possibilities and encourage new ways of doing and being.

1. Test the water
This week’s word is: In-between
The term "in-between" refers to a position, state, or condition that is intermediate or transitional, lying between two things, places, states, or points.
The term "in-between" comes from combining the Old English in (meaning "inside") and betweonum (meaning "between"). Betweonum itself comes from Proto-Germanic biþween, meaning "by two" or “in the middle of two”.
What is your definition of in-between and how do you relate to it? Discuss the question here.
2. Experience the initial wave
To broaden your perspective, take a few minutes to read the following quotes and ideas and notice what comes up for you.
I.
“The spaces in between the notes are where the music lives.” Keith Jarrett
II.
"Don't be so busy chasing extraordinary that you miss ordinary. Taking a moment to commit to how we feel in the in-between ordinary moments can be very powerful." Brené Brown
III.
"It’s not just about the perfect performance or the applause - it’s about everything that happens in between. The practices, the failures, the quiet moments when you’re just figuring it out. That’s where growth happens." Kristen Moore-Towers
3. Dive deep
To gain a deeper understanding and spark new discoveries, this week I invite you to reflect on the following question:
In what ways have the in-between moments shaped the person you have become?
What emotions or thoughts tend to arise in the in-between spaces, and how do you respond to them?
How can you make the most of the in-between moments, rather than rushing through them?
How can you cultivate more patience and acceptance in the in-between phases of your life?
4. Ride your radiant wave
What if the in-between moments weren’t just gaps between milestones, but opportunities to truly live? This week, I invite you to shift your focus to those quiet, often overlooked moments in-between the big events of your day. Start by creating a list of everyday tasks - things like washing dishes, folding laundry, or making the bed. Rather than rushing through them to check them off, see if you can find a different kind of joy: the joy of actually doing the task, not just finishing it. Let go of the need to complete everything quickly or perfectly. It’s not about making the task fun or amazing; it’s about being present in the process, however simple or mundane. Once you experimented with this, try to expand this same awareness to more in-between moments: waiting in line, walking to the bus, or waiting for your coffee to brew. These are the spaces we often race through, but they’re just as much a part of life as the “big” moments. This week, see what happens when you stop treating the in-between moments as interruptions—and instead embrace them as opportunities to be.
